Dr. (Colonel) Rakesh Verma

Rakesh Verma, MBBS, MHA is the Chief Executive Officer of AeonMed Health & Hospitals, a consulting company specializing in Hospital & Healthcare Quality, Accreditation, Operations, Learning & Development Systems, Performance and Productivity. He is a consultant, speaker, teacher, trainer for Hospital and Healthcare Systems.

He is a former officer from the Army Medical Corps of the Indian Army and has seen military action in high-altitude and mountains. A graduate of the prestigious Armed Forces Medical College, Pune and All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, he has been in the forefront of managing human-resource and hospitals. He has managed large hospital projects from conceptualization through execution and operationalization.

As Principal Assessor and Faculty with National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH) for over 11 years since 2010 he has gained valuable insights into conceptualizing, creating and operating quality management systems in line with accreditation requirements in hospitals and healthcare organizations. He is Lead Auditor for ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System, Internal Auditor for ISO15189:2012 Medical Laboratories Quality Management System, Assessor for Performance Excellence in Healthcare based on Baldridge Excellence Framework, Assessor for QAI-GHA Accreditation Program for Medical Tourism and Assessor for QAI IVF Accreditation Program. He is also member of Accreditation Committee of Quality & Accreditation Institute, New Delhi.

He has designed and conducted training courses in health and hospital administration in both onsite and virtual mode. His contributions in Healthcare Executive Management Development Program (HxMDP) of Department of Hospital Administration, AIIMS, New Delhi earned him special appreciation. He has successfully designed and implemented ‘Experiential Training Programs’ to train personnel in field survival, critical first aid and life-saving skills in a simulated environment, a program that continues to run and had earned him all round accolades. He has extensive experience in Healthcare HR Systems Costing in Health systems and Healthcare facilities planning & designing.

He also serves as Program Director of Research Foundation for Hospital & Healthcare Administration, New Delhi, and editor for International Journal of Research Foundation of Hospital & Health Administration.

He is a life member of Academy of Hospital Administration (AHA) and an associate member of Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF) representing it in Anti-doping Commission of Union of International Alpine Associations (UIAA). He has served on the committee for development of vocational content for Mountaineering & Adventure Sector under National Vocational Educational Qualification Framework (NVEQF) under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt of India.

He has extensively trekked in Indian Himalayas in Sikkim, Garhwal, Kumaon, Ladakh and Sahyadri hills in western India and has done some serious mountain climbing in the Sikkim, Garhwal and Ladakh regions.

He once taught himself to sing and found himself alongside his similarly singing colleagues only to learn that he has no future in singing, but then again, neither did they!
