Foundational Requirements for WellHotel® for Medical Travel Accreditation

Properties must meet the foundational requirements listed below to be considered for accreditation:

Bathrooms with no less than three plumbing fixtures (ie., sink, toilet, and/or shower)
Hot and cold water at lavatory and shower/bath faucets available at all times
Combination of double and king beds available for guest reservations
In-room electronics include a flat-screen television with remote control, technology charging stations, telephone and alarm clock
Restaurant with room service ending no earlier than 9 pm and a menu or service that includes healthful options or can meet the unique dietary requirements for recovering patients as needed.
Business center with at least one computer and printer available for guest use
Wireless internet access available throughout the property
Registration and checkout service available 24/7 with the manager on duty at all times
Well-maintained and clean physical environment to include: clean wall and ceiling paint; clean carpets with no evidence of major stains; pleasant-smelling public areas and guest rooms; working light fixtures in all public areas and guest rooms; clean upholstery
Adequate self-parking or valet-parking to accommodate a full hotel

Foundational Requirements for WellHotel® for Wellbeing Accreditation

Properties must meet the foundational requirements listed below to be considered for accreditation:

Combination of double and king beds available for guest reservations
Bathrooms with no less than three plumbing fixtures (i.e., sink, toilet, and/or shower)
Hot and cold water at lavatory and shower/bath faucets available at all times
In-room electronics, including flat screen television with remote control, technology charging stations, telephone and alarm clock.
At least four of the following five services in existence at the time the accreditation process starts:
Onsite fitness center that meets the following criteria:
at least one staff person available for guest guidance during normal business hours. (This person may be in the fitness center or simply on the premises but easily located via contact information posted in the fitness center).
A minimum of four cardiovascular exercise options; resistance training options that allow for full body strength training; and a space for stretching, meditation or other activities that support physical, emotional or mental wellbeing.
Onsite spa or spa services with a minimum of one treatment room.
Onsite pool large enough to host a water exercise class and/or accommodate lap swimming for at least five guests at a time.
Full-service restaurant with room service ending no earlier than 9 pm and a menu that includes healthful options that wellness tourists may be interested in, such as vegetarian, gluten free, organic, etc.
An outdoor area that allows for recreational activities with a minimum of one guest. Such recreational services include walking trails with guided hikes, golf course golf lessons, tennis court with tennis lessons, etc.
Business center with at least one computer and printer available for guest use.
Wireless internet access available throughout the property.
Registration and checkout service available 24/7 with manager on duty at all times.
Well-maintained and clean physical environment to include: clean wall and ceiling paint; clean carpets with no evidence of major stains; pleasant smelling public areas and guest rooms; working light fixtures in all public areas and guest rooms, and; clean upholstery.
