Overview of the Facilitator Certification

Medical Travel Facilitators play an important role in medical travel. Whether it’s providing information about various destinations and health care providers, making arrangements for passports, visas, flights, lodging and transportation, or providing clients with expert advice, patients are trusting you to make sure they have a safe and seamless medical travel experience. Unfortunately, patients have very few signposts to help them distinguish between a reputable facilitator and one that is simply a fly-by-night or primarily focused on financial interests. Moreover, there is currently little or no regulation as it pertains to medical travel facilitation.

Almost anyone can claim they offer medical travel services and put up a nice website with attractive images and content, but not everyone has the knowledge, qualifications and experience to facilitate a safe and high-quality patient experience. GHA’s Medical Travel Facilitator Certification is conducted online and focuses on validating the capacity of facilitator companies to provide appropriate services to clients that enhance safety and patient experience along the entire Medical Travel Care Continuum (patient journey) as appropriate to the particular healthcare provider and the facilitator company’s business model.
